Do You Hear the Rumble?

There has been an avalanche slowly compiling snowfall after snowfall for decades now. Sometimes it has come in blizzards and sometimes in just dustings. I am uncertain as to when, or even what will cause the final descent of the overpowering, mountainous force of pure whiteness, but we are inching ever closer with each passing news cycle. A deep grumble, producing a vibrating rumble, can faintly be heard across the societal landscape that is the unified voice of the increasing masses through gritted teeth clenched in resolve. Their words carry rousing messaging to the sleeping masses being awakened from their poisonously propagandized slumber, but also a pertinacious warning to the tyrants: “Do Not Comply!”

One of the frequencies that are carrying this vibration is the once-silenced Spirit realm. For the majority of American history, the populous embraced, not always sincerely but nevertheless acknowledged, a wholistic commitment and adherence to basic Biblical morality and rationality. These Godly parameters were the framing of great historical moments in our fledgling nation. The civil rights movement could best be epitomized by, “I Have a Dream,” spoken by the Reverend Martin Luther King Junior which was founded on the biblical premise that all men were created equal.

In the Torah (3,500 years earlier), this concept was known as being, “Image Bearers,” of God.

Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness, to rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, and over all the earth itself and every creature that crawls upon it.”

So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

Then this divine attribute was accelerated by Christ in the New Covenant where He brought an even greater expression of equality through His Gospel, ministry, Kingdom, and Ekklesia.

There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

I could spend pages going back over the Civil War era, the Woman’s Suffrage movement, the Worker’s Rights movement, the pioneer spirit that expanded the West, and the very birth of our nation in, “Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.”

Each of these historical actions is grounded and founded through Biblical authority and emboldened by fervent Christians willing to fight for what was right, just because it was right. These were the heroes of the past and they did hard things, many of them accepting the high honor of martyrdom… for Jesus and His Truth. Authentic liberty is a Gospel thing that only comes from Jesus and liberty was the undertow of all righteous movements.

Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.

John 8:36 NKJV

No Son, no real freedom… that is what Jesus said, don’t cancel me!

Then things changed. Christianity went from a chief cornerstone of our collective philosophy to a stuffy, old punching bag dangling from a rusty rafter in the corner covered in cobwebs. Our nation entered a time of, “Post-Modernism Christianity.” In an article on the, “Got Questions,” website, the author tries to define this amorphous phenomenon that began in the 1990’s as a result of the, “modernist movements in the art and literary world that were mudding the waters in the ’70s and ’80s. Here is their attempted definition, in part:

“Post-modern Christianity falls into line with basic post-modernist thinking. It is about experience over reason, subjectivity over objectivity, (…) images over words, outward over inward… For example, because experience is valued more highly than reason, truth becomes relative. This opens up all kinds of problems, as this lessens the standard that the Bible contains absolute truth, and even disqualifies biblical truth as being absolute in many cases. If the Bible is not our source for absolute truth and personal experience is allowed to define and interpret what truth actually is, saving faith in Jesus Christ is rendered meaningless.”

No Son, no truth. Again, put yer gun away, Sparky… I am just quoting Jesus.

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

John 14:6 BSB

Notice the definite article, “the.” It is NOT an indefinite article like, “a.” THE truth is not A truth. Jesus did not proclaim a message or a way of life that was His opinion only valid for the moment or based on a feeling.

Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.

John 8:32 BSB

Freedom and liberty are fruits of truth. Truth is Jesus and the Word that proclaims Him.

Sanctify them by the truth; Your word is truth.

John 17:17 BSB

If you are picking up what I am laying down here, our problem is not corrupt, tyrannical politicians. It is not pseudo-scientists screaming about anti-vax, maskless people and climate catastrophe. It is not the evil groomers hiding in the government schools and drag-queen story hour. It is not the anarchists burning our cities down. It is not the volcanic rise in addictions destroying every life they enslave. It is not even the sorry castrated devil.

The real problem is we have wandered astray from the shepherd and overseer of our culture’s soul.

For “you were like sheep going astray,” but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.

We cannot solve Spiritual problems with natural solutions. The government cannot fix what sin has broken. Those statements apply to the macro geodemographic populous as well as to each of us individually. Each and every society on earth is simply the collection of many individuals with shared values and culture. My internal culture determines my external culture. As we gather together we produce a movement energized by a shared culture. Our current world is in desperate need of a new movement, THE Great Awakening, which will be carried on the lips and lives of people like you and me, Beloved.

As we embrace these principles together, we go from a gentle winter snow to a raging white-out blizzard of purity that covers the landscape. We are the sound that will finally cause the avalanche to break off the resting place of its high mountain and topple over all the stains and scars of this present lost generation thrusting them into the green pastures and still waters of the Great Shepherd’s care.
