Target Acquired

Hello precious Beloved Family!

What a unique and exciting week we all had together with the Pot-Luck Koinonia, DOC Ryan, and the powerful opportunities of our Comforting Holy Spirit. Every grace-filled moment together produces an increased expectancy for the next one and the next one…

I am writing this exhortation to you as the icy fog is thick and permeating early this morning. It is a resemblance to the status of our nation today, sadly, I admit. There is a deep, thick fog of deception, manipulation, and confusion that seems impenetrable visually. Yet, the truth and reality is that the fog, no matter how thick, is incapable of stopping even the smallest object. I can walk outside and the fog must yield to my will and activity. If I were to fire a BB or a .50-cal in this fog, the projectile would be unhindered. My target would be harder to acquire, but the effectiveness and power of my weapon is unchanged.

This is relative to our situation today. There is confusion about where, what, or who the “target” is. Let me help with some clarity.

  • WHERE: Our declared mortal enemy only has one place of entrance into any part of our lives… our thinking.
    • 2 Corinthians 10:5 – Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ
    • Notice that the two entrance points are our “imagination” and “thoughts”. The way you set your mental focus either opens you up to the enemy of your soul… or the Lover of your soul (Jesus, our Lord). Knowing this tactic can make you a great asset to the King and His Kingdom as you soundly and effortlessly defeat all the forces of the enemy both internally and in your sphere of influence by shedding the TRUTH of the Glorious Gospel into hearts and minds.
  • WHAT: The cosmic battle that has been waged in the spiritual realm for these two millennium is just simply light (truth) over darkness (un-truth).
    • 1 John 1:5-6 – This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth.
    • These verses highlight the connection of light and truth… but also darkness and lies. Just like with the natural fog in the Midwest, when the sun rises in full strength, the fog is burned away and no longer has any power or ability to darken or hide. This is the effect when the, “Sun of Righteousness,” dawns in our hearts, and brings the clarity and warmth that heaven desires for us to receive. When the truth of the Finished Work of the Cross, the infallible Word of God, or the Prophetic releases (prophecy) of the Father’s will and perspective are embraced, they bring an illumination to our surroundings. Light ALWAYS prevails over darkness. Truth ALWAYS prevails over lies. Just because you cannot see the sun does not mean it has ceased to exist… the sun is no different at noon or at midnight… it is our visual relationship to the sun that changes.
  • WHO: This is very important for us, Beloved. Our battles are not with political foes… corrupt or evil leaders, bosses, supervisors… media personalities… economic forces… physical sickness or disease. The wrestling is taking place on a much different and higher plain.
    • Ephesians 6:12 – For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high [places].
    • So, our defensive strategies need to be aligned against the, “spiritual wickedness,” that tries to get it’s way in the natural realm. “Spiritual,” means the nature and realm of life that is above the natural. Natural is the lowest place, and spiritual is the highest place (supernatural, above the natural). We have the HIGHEST spiritual life available to us because we are filled with the Holy Spirit of God Himself! So, then, we need to define, “wickedness.” Here is the Greek: “depravity, i.e. (specially), malice; plural (concretely) plots, sins — iniquity, wickedness.” You can see here why a life dominated by pure thinking (Phil 3:8), TRUTH (Word of God), praise (Psa 8:2) and faith (“For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, [even] our faith.” – 1 John 5:4)

The light and warmth of the Son is shining upon us all now, and out my office window, I see the fog dissipating now that I am finishing this writing to you. That is just the “ironic” and fun way our Father illustrates His ways! I pray that you are basking in the light of truth today and fully resisting the castrated attempts of the cold fog. Let this note be a jolt of light into your soul and join the heavenly host in the victory chorus of, “Hallelujah!”

I love you GREATLY,
Steve
